Burnt Pine Golf Course

Referred to as the "Crown Jewel of Florida Golf" by Golf Magazine, Burnt Pine boasts a one-of-a-kind golf experience on Florida's Emerald Coast. Course architect Rees Jones has carefully integrated the design into the delicate surrounding environment. The result is a golf course that's more than just challenging shots and bunkers. It's the ever changing panoramic Choctawhatchee Bay views and sunsets. Strategically placed greens that sit as islands in amongst protected wetlands, accessed only by wooden bridges. Or as simple as the native pines that follow you throughout the course.

Burnt Pines is one of four courses in Sandestin Resort that includes: Raven Golf Club, The Links and Baytowne Golf Clubs.

Location: Next to Sandestin's Raven Golf Club at 3300 Burnt Pine Lane, Miramar Beach, FL 32550 | 850.267.6500 | www.burntpinegolfclub.com/

Burnt Pine golf course, Sandestin FL

Course Description

Burnt Pine plays from 5153 to 7001 yards with four different tee sets. The course was designed to accommodate both the cautious golfer who would rather shoot around a bunker, or the zealous, "bring it on" type of player. Every hole offers a new set of shot options and club choices. By the end of your round, you'll either love bunkers or hate them, with a wide variety peppered throughout, including a 200 yarder on Hole #2.

Be sure to watch for wildlife when you approach the arboreal forest on Hole #4. Don't worry, the deep pot bunkers will help keep your balls out of the trees. You might get that elusive birdie on Hole #5. Bordered by lake on one side and forest on the other, an accurate drive could get you to the green in two shots.

The one hole that gets mentioned most often in the bar after the round is number 14. A seemingly innocent par 3, golfers face the panoramic waters of Choctawhatchee Bay, along with prevailing bay breeze. From here an accurate shot is required, with little room for error onto a sloped green, completely surrounded by marshland. It may take as much as 200 yards to carry the ball over the wetland, but a drop area is provided just left of the green, so a bogey is not an impossible task.
