Winter 2018/19 Events in Destin & 30A
Winter events in the Destin and 30A are the best for relaxing and taking time to feed the body and soul. Now is the time for the cook-offs, wine and beer tasting events and a multitude of concerts and music-related venues.
Here is a list of some of the not-to-be-missed events going on this Winter in Destin and the 30A.
December 2018
Grand Boulevard Coastal White Christmas
Each weekend between November 23 and December 15, enjoy Horse-Drawn Carriage Rides, faux snow and caroling in Grand Park on Friday and Saturday evenings and photos with Santa & Mrs. Claus on Saturday afternoons. The Festival of Trees celebration kicks off on Tuesday, November 20 in Grand Park. Trees remain on display through Christmas.
Destin Christmas Parade - December 8 | 10 am - 12 pm
Floats will begin at Downtown Destin Shopping Center (Old Time Pottery) and travel west down Harbor Blvd. (Hwy 98) to Stahlman Avenue. Spectators should stand on the north side of Harbor Blvd. to watch the parade.
Destin Harbor Boat Parade - December 9 from 6-7pm
The actual boat parade begins at 6 pm at HarborWalk Village, but the fun goes on all day. Begin with a 1pm visit from Santa Clause, followed by a performance of the Nutcracker on the Main Stage at 4:45 PM from the Ballet Conservatory of the Destin School of Music & Dance. The parade will begin at 6PM, followed by a fireworks display over the harbor.
Holiday Concert Series - Wednesdays in December
A different holiday concert on December 5, 12, 19th at Baytowne Wharf.
12 Nights of Lights - Every Wednesday, Friday & Saturday up to Dec. 22
A festive light show in conjunction with the concert series at Baytowne Wharf. Watch three dazzling shows on the Village tree at 6pm, 7pm, and 8pm.
Baytowne on Ice
Community skating at the Village of Baytowne Wharf from October 27th to February 2nd. Check their site as hours vary.
Cooking with the Chef - December 4, 2018, 12 pm
Watch Chef Jimmy McManus in action as he prepares a meal. All-inclusive price is $32 and includes complimentary glass of wine.
Takes place at the HarborView room at Emerald Grande. Reservations required, 850-424-0622.
31st Annual Holiday on the Harbor Destin Boat Parade - December 9, 2018, 12 pm
Visit with Santa Claus at the HarborWalk main stage until 4, then watch the boat parade starting at 6 pm with fireworks and fire spinning at the main stage.
Baytowne Ice Extravaganza - December 14 at 6pm and 7:30pm
The event will feature two performances by Emma Phibbs and Evan Roberts, competitive ice dancers. You don't want to miss this! FREE
January 2019
Baytowne Countdown NYE - Monday, December 31 from 6 pm - 1 am
Family friendly activities from 6-8 pm, live music and fireworks a 8 pm & midnight. Dance until 1 am.
Grand Boulevard Farmers Market - Every Saturday | 9am-1pm
This outdoor market in Sandetin's Town Center features dozens of vendors offering food items, produce, gift items, bread and more.
30A Songwriters Festival | January 18-21
Celebrating its 10th year, the annual 30A Songwriters Festival will feature 175 songwriters performing at over 25 venues throughout South Walton, offering something for everybody!

Annual Sandestin Gumbo Festival | February 15-16
More than just Gumbo, bring the whole family for live music, kid's activities and more. Held at Baytowne Wharf
Friday features the Seafood Boil Kick Off Party from 5pm - 7pm.

Emerald Coast Parrot Heads' Annual Chili Cook-Off | February 23, 12 pm - 4:30 pm
Over 20 restaurants will face off for the title of the best chili in town, and attendees will have the chance to taste secret chili recipes. http://ecparrotheads.org/
March 2019
6th Annual Tequila and Taco Fest | March 8-9
Tequila and taco tastings, live music - there's no better way to celebrate your love for tequila and tacos. The fun begins on March 8th at 7pm with a Tapas & Tequila Kick-Off Party presented by Garden & Gun— featuring live music by Nashville band Humming House. The signature tasting event is on Saturday, March 9th from 1-5pm. Enjoy live music on 3 stages while trying many varieties of craft tequila cocktails paired with fish, shrimp, beef and authentic Latin tacos. Artwalk on the Harbor - Held the 3rd Sunday of each month | 11 am-4 pm
There will be more than 40 vendors including painters, jewelers, photographers, sculptors, soap makers, and even artisan foods.Located just below Margaritaville, and to the west of AJ’s Seafood & Oyster Bar, the Destin Harbor.
