Fall is a wonderful time of year in Destin. The kids are back in school and life has begun to return to normal again. You'll see there is still plenty to do; although from the list of events below, largely dominated by craft beer festivals and the ever popular Fishing Rodeo. Okaloosa Island Fireworks at the Fishing Pier - September 4
Time: 9 pm


FWB BBQ Festival - September 16
5th annual festival of food, music, beer, and family fun, sponsored by Okaloosa Gas!  The festival is two days - Friday and Saturday. 
Location: The Landing, 139 Brooks St. Fort Walton Beach | Hours on Friday are from 4 to 9 pm. Saturday hours are 11 am to 4 pm.

Eggs on the Beach BBQ Competition - September 24
Eggs on the Beach will be a delicious afternoon for the entire family, featuring a cooking competition, “People’s Choice Awards,” tastings, live music and children’s activities. Tickets in advance: $25/adult; $13.00/child (age 11-17) and kids 10 and under FREE

South Walton Run/SUP Series 2016 - September 24
Run/SUP is the perfect sports competition for our area, combining a 2 mile beach and dune run with a 2 mile paddle across beautiful Western Lake in Grayton Beach State Park. | Time: 8:00 am

OCTOBER 2016

Destin Seafood Festival - September 30, Oct. 1, 2
Held along the Destin Harbor Boardwalk, take in fresh seafood, live music, artists and more. Admission is free and open to the public but donations are accepted at Festival Soda & Beer tents and at the Fishermens Raffle Tent. | www.DestinSeafoodFestival.org


30A Craft Beer & Spirits Festival - September 30, October 1
The former Destin Beer Festival has been relocated to the Gulf Place Town Center on 30A. Over 100 craft beers and spirits, food samples and live entertainment.

Destin Fishing Rodeo - October 1-31
Destin's longest held event for 68 years running, the fishing rodeo lasts for the entire month of October. Daily weigh-ins happen on the docks at AJ’s Seafood & Oyster Bar on the Harbor. The cost is free for anyone fishing aboard a registered boat, or doing pier or shoreline fishing.

South Walton Fashion Week - October 5-10
This large-scale, multi-day event will stretch along South Walton’s 16 beach neighborhoods in Florida. The event will feature national rising designers and models, local, regional and national designers, stores and boutiques, runway shows, retail shopping experiences, trunk shows and parties. The main event takes place in Grand Boulevard at Sandestin under the SWFW tent.

Nashville Songwriters Florida Sunshine Tour - October 6-8
The sixth annual event, hosted by Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort, will showcase more than a dozen BMI songwriters who will sing country’s biggest hits and share the stories behind the songs.

Baytowne Beer Fest - October 14, 15
Over 200 international and domestic craft beers will be available for sampling along with live entertainment both days of the event. Tickets are $30 in advance and $35 the day of the beer fest.

Community Fall Festival - October 17,
Destin's annual Fall Festival will feature rides, events and fun for the family. There will be prizes for the best costume and a Jack-O-Lantern carving contest (make sure you enter your carved pumpkin by 3 pm on Oct. 17).

30A Half Marathon & 5K - October 21 - 23
Presented by The 30A Company, the 30A Half Marathon & 5K is a 3-day race festival which will take place on iconic Scenic Highway 30A. Kicking off on Friday evening with the pre-race party, the fun won’t stop until Sunday afternoon’s post-race festivities.

Halloween Haunt - October 28
Time: 6 pm - 8 pm at Destin Commons. Dress your kids and/or Fido and enter the costume contest. Face painting and trick-or-treating to follow.


Pumpkinpalooza - October 29-30
This two-day festival features a live concert and adult costume contest from 7-9 pm on Saturday. On Sunday dress up the kids and your pet and trick-or-treat from 2 pm at HarborWalk Village.


MKAF 2016 Festival of the Arts - October 29, 30
Recognized as one of Northwest Florida’s premier fine art shows, the Festival of the Arts welcomes more than 100 artists from across the United States and Europe to the beautiful beaches of Destin to showcase their art and to compete for $10,000 in cash prizes.
