Seagrove Beach viewSeagrove Beach - A Bit of the Old & New

Seagrove Beach is a real treasure among the Scenic 30A Gulf front communities. Here, you won't find the wall-to-wall high rise condos as you would in Destin. Seagrove Beach is a charming beach neighborhood that has held fast to its roots. It's a blend of new and old visitors, some who have been returning here for generations. Especially enjoyed by families, the uncrowded white sand beaches offer hours of entertainment for the kids.

Home owners include a combination of permanent and seasonal residents. The abundance of natural beauty in the area, makes it easy to find a private homesite with a view. Large beachfront condos gather at the shore, where smaller homes are set back slightly. Others prefer the peace and tranquility of Eastern Lake, South Walton's largest coastal dune lake.

Developed in 1949, C.H. McGee purchased 160 acres of Gulf front property valued at $75,000. Next came five houses and the Seagrove Village Market Cafe where you could purchase fresh seafood and drinks. Gulf front lots started selling for $1,000 each, and interior lots for $500 - the rest is history.

Today, real estate in Seagrove Beach features a mesh of quaint beach cottages and modern estates, each living happily in close proximity. The original oaks, magnolias and hickories are still in abundance and provide a green canopy over the community. View All Homes for Sale in Seagrove Beach
