2016 Was a Good Year for Destin Real Estate
Overall the Destin and Scenic 30A real estate market saw a 5% increase in the number of properties sold. Average sale prices also increased by 5% overall with the biggest gains in townhomes at 14%.
Destin & 30A Single-Family Homes 2016
Single-family home numbers increased by 6% with a 5% increase in average sale price. Homes remained on the market only an average of 101 days in 2016, compared to 110 in 2015.
Destin & 30A Condos 2016
The average sale price of Destin and 30A condos went up 4% from 2015, but the number of sales decreased by 1%. There were less people selling which meant fewer active listings.
Destin & 30A Townhomes 2016
Townhomes demonstrated the most gains in 2016 with a total sales volume a whopping 30% higher than 2015. The average sale price also increased by 14% and the number of days on market went from 100 to 93.
Areas with the biggest gains included 30A East (129%), Freeport (178%), Destin (83%), and Navarre (10%).
Scenic 30A Luxury Home Market 2016
Alys Beach may not have had the highest sales volume in 2016, but this community showed an impressive increase of 55% in the number of sales compared to 2015. Much of this was due to the popularity of the new Caliza Courts townhomes along Somerset Street.
Inlet Beach also showed some impressive numbers with 262 sales in 2016, up 27% from 2015. What's big in Inlet Beach? Residences in the Prominence Triplex Townhomes are selling like hotcakes, as well as Florida cottage homes in Grande Pointe at Inlet Beach.
